JOINT SECURITY OPERATIVES RESCUE KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN ONDO STATE

No fewer than 13 travelers were kidnapped by gunmen on 8th June 2023 along Abuja Road in Isua, Akoko South-East LGA, Ondo State.


The victims who were in transit from Lagos to Abuja in an 18-passenger bus were waylaid by the gunmen and whisked into the forest while three among the travelers were left behind.


The incident was subsequently reported to operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Amotekun Corps, Army, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who immediately swung into action, engaged with the kidnappers in a gun duel, and neutralized one of them.


All the victims were rescued at the Ikakumo area in Akoko North-East Local Government Area, a short distance away from Isua, where the incident took place.
