BREAKING: ANGRY IDPs PROTEST IN BORNO

BREAKING: ANGRY IDPs PROTEST IN BORNO

The Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), at Bama IDP camp, Bama Local Government Area, Borno State on Thursday, May 28 staged a protest over delay in food supply.

The protesters claimed that the Bama Initiatives, an International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO) is delaying the supply of food.

Available Report indicates that the IDPs attempted to forcefully enter an INGO warehouse in Borno resulting in the suspension of activities by the INGO ostensibly for security reason.

Recall, the IDP camp was setup in 2015 for 15,000 persons by the Government to accommodate those displaced by the crisis brought about by Boko Haram insurgents invasions.

Series of protests on food related issues have been reported in the camp.
