COVID-19: FCT RECORDS 320 NEW CASES, SURPASSES LAGOS DAILY TALLY

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja on Thursday recorded 320 fresh cases of COVID-19, surpassing the daily infections in Lagos State.


According to the latest data provided by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the FCT cases surpassed that of Lagos State which accounted for 275 confirmed cases of the deadly virus.


Nigeria's COVID-19 cases have increased to 136,030 after the NCDC confirmed 1340 additional cases in the 36 States and the FCT.


The total deaths so far stands at 1632 since the outbreak of the pandemic, while about 110,449 have been successfully treated and discharged from various isolation centres after recovering from the disease.



Below are the number of cases and the other States affected according to Thursday's NCDC report: Rivers-117, Oyo-100, Akwa Ibom-57, Ogun-51, Ebonyi-48, Benue-44, Adamawa-42, Imo-38, Kwara-35, Gombe-32, Kaduna-31, Edo-29, Osun-29, Kano-24, Ekiti-15, Katsina-14, Delta-13, Nasarawa-13, Jigawa-10, Sokoto-3.




“Our discharges today include 824 community recoveries in Lagos State, 448 in the FCT and 142 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines,” NCDC stated.


Meanwhile, Lagos State is still the epicenter of the infection in Nigeria with 50,593 confirmed cases. 43,560 patients have been discharged after receiving treatment while 334 have lost their lives to the deadly virus.
