GUNMEN KILL SENIOR IMMIGRATION OFFICER IN IMO STATE

Eons Intelligence has gathered that gunmen have killed Okiemute Mrere, the Chief Provost of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), in Imo state.

The Provost was killed after his killers intercepted his vehicle, a Toyota Hilux truck, along Owerri-Port Harcourt road on Saturday.

Sources confirm that the assailants shot sporadically at his vehicle, before dumping his corpse in a bush on Sunday morning.

Confirming the incident, Winifred Oguh, the Imo immigration command spokesperson, said investigation has begun into the incident and to arrest the gunmen behind the Provost’s death.

Recently, there have been unprecedented attacks on Government facilities in the Eastern region. Security formations, INEC offices, Correctional centres, amongst others, have all been attacked in the region, while several residents have been killed and others injured.
