MAN DOCKED FOR BITING OFF POLICEMAN'S FINGER IN LAGOS


A man, Samuel Jacob was on Tuesday docked in a Badagry Magistrates’ Court for allegedly biting off Police man's finger.


It was reported that the suspect bit off Sgt Musa Hassan's index finger during an altercation at Oloko, Badagry on the 3rd of October.


The defendant, Mr Jacob was charged by the Nigerian Police with assault and the infliction of bodily harm on an officer.


The prosecution counsel, ASP Clement Okuoimose said the defendant committed the offence at 11.30 am at Oloko, Badagry on the 3rd of October. He was also accused of pouring substance suspected to be petrol om an officer in the line of duty.


The act is said to contravenes Sections 246 and 174 of the criminal code of Lagos state.

The defendant pleaded "Not guilty" to the charges. The Chief Magistrate, Fadaunsi Adefioye admitted him to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties while the case was adjourned until November 11, 2021.
