BANDITS ATTACK KATSINA, KIDNAP A 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL

Unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits on Sunday night kidnapped a 13-year-old girl, Khadijat Mutaka, and injured a 30-year old man, Ibrahim Yar-Garshe in Kurfi, headquarters of Kurfi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

 

Eyewitnesses reports revealed that the bandits stormed the town about 9.31 pm through one of the mountains in the town, shooting sporadically and abducted the girl whose father is a doctor.

 

According to Channels TV, when its correspondents visited the location on Monday, there were no signs of attack, only two police operatives were seen patrolling around the checkpoint.

The Police Public Relations Officer SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the incident, said the injured victim is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

 

According to Isah, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sanusi Buba has directed Operations Puff Adder and Sharan_Daji led by DPO Dutsinma to rescue the kidnap victim, noting that efforts are on top gear.

“The incident happened at about 9.31 pm. The Commissioner of Police directed the Area Commander, Dutsin-ma, to mobilise (his men). The hoodlums kidnapped a 13-year-old girl and shot one Ibrahim Yar-Garshe on the leg,” Isah said.
