IDP COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER BEING RAPED BY NGO WORKER IN BORNO, POLICE ARREST SUSPECT
A female Internally Displaced Person (IDP), Aisha Umar, has committed suicide after allegedly being raped by an official of an International Non-Governmental Organisation, Huzaif Adam, in Borno state.
Reports say the deceased, who was doing menial jobs for survival, was lured into the suspect's apartment at 303 Housing Estate, near Dalori IDP camp, Maiduguri, under the guise of cleaning the place.
It was gathered that the suspect, 35, forcefully had sex with her when she came to his residence.
The victim, who was traumatised by the dastardly act, rushed to Huzaif's kitchen where she picked a knife and stabbed herself.
The suspect has however been arrested and is currently detained at the Gwange Police Division in Borno and his would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution later.
