TWO DSS OPERATIVES DEAD, OTHERS MISSING IN IPOB CLASH

Two officers of the Department of State Security were killed by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB on Sunday, August 23 in Emene, Enugu State.

Eons Intelligence gathered that about 7 am, the security officers went to disperse the proscribed IPOB members who were holding a meeting in the Community Secondary School in Emene.

However, the IPOB members who were in their hundreds resisted the security operatives and became confrontational.

Noticing that they were outnumbered, the Security operatives tried to retreat, but the IPOB members pounced on a DSS member and set him ablaze, while his team leader who tried to rescue him was butchered to death.

The rest of the security officials were forced to shoot their way out of the school and two IPOB members were hit by bullets from the DSS.

Unconfirmed report says the DSS member that was set ablaze went back to retrieve his gun which was snatched by the IPOB members and his team leader who followed him was also killed.

A High Court in Nigeria proscribed the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB as a terrorist organisation in 2017.
