ABDUCTED TEGINA STUDENTS KEPT IN 25 CAMPS

The abducted students of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School, Tegina, Niger State, are being kept in 25 camps in the forest, a man sent to deliver ransom to the hoodlums confirmed this latest development.

Gunmen abducted 136 students of the school on May 30 and three of the students died in the hands of the captors last week.

Kasimu Barangana, the man who took N30 million to the bandits said that the children are camped in 25 forest locations keenly watched by different armed bandits.

The children are heavily guarded by bandits who are alert to every movement in the forest, Barangana said.

Barangana was apprehended by the kidnappers when he went to deliver the money but released on Monday after a few days.

He described the condition of the children as disturbing.

“The students are separated into 25 groups in the forest, with each group being monitored by different gangs for fear of attacks. I was taken around the enclave to see the children and I found their conditions disturbing,” Barangana said.

“While I was in the forest with the kidnappers I was given fair treatment, I fed on beef throughout my stay with them. They gave me N11,000 as transport fare; they were very kind to me.”
