BAIL APPLICATION FILED BY OMOYELE SOWORE AND FOUR OTHERS SUFFER SETBACK
The bail application filed by Former Presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, and four others has yet again suffered a setback.
The bail suffered a setback after operatives of the Nigeria Police Force failed to produce the defendants in court.
Speaking to newsmen on Friday at the Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, the defendants' lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, revealed the Police alleged to have transferred the case file to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) for further investigation and prosecution.
Abubakar further stated that DIG said he had handed the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution on the instruction of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF).
Recall, Eons Intelligence reported on Monday that Sowore was arrested alongside four protesters during a #CrossOverProtest held on the eve of new year in Abuja.
The protesters were arraigned on several charges of unlawful assembly, treason, criminal conspiracy and inciting public disturbance, among others.
On January 5, the court adjourned the case without granting them bail, thus asking them to remain in detention.
