LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT INSPECTS FACILITIES AT MURTALA MUHAMMED INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AHEAD OF REOPENING OF INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS

Ahead of the re-opening of the international airspace slated for September 5th, 2020, the Lagos State Government has inspected facilities at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.


Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, who led the delegation that went for the inspection, said he is impressed at the level of preparedness from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

He noted that he had gone through the various measures put in place to ensure safety and security of travellers as international flight operations recommences on Saturday, September 5th, 2020.


Hamzat said that from the departure frontage, to the check-in area, screening point, immigration area, up to the boarding gate, FAAN has fully complied with laid down protocols to ensure physical distancing by the markings on ground, proper temperature checks, hand washing.

He revealed that even the airport conveniences have been upgraded to cater for the Post Covid-19 operational requirements.


The Deputy Governor enjoined travellers and airport users to always follow instructions given by airport officials in the interest of safety.

Managing Director (MD) of FAAN, Captain Rabiu Yadudu stated that three flights would be landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport tomorrow beginning with Middle East Airline at about 3pm.
