LAGOS STATE TASK FORCE DEBUNKS REPORTS THAT ITS VEHICLE KILLED A MAN IN OSHODI
The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit (Task Force) has debunked reports that its vehicle knocked down a young man in Oshodi on Tuesday January 26.
Debunking the reports, the Task Force in a press statement said a bus driver who took off recklessly at high speed after noticing the presence of a Lagos Task Force vehicle while illegally loading passengers, knocked down the innocent man.
It said the commercial driver's violation of the Task Force's law led to the death of the victim.
The Taskforce also revealed that no gunshot was fired within the vicinity as being rumoured on social media.
It noted that the Lagos State Government commiserates with the family of the deceased, adding that the reckless driver would be arrested and prosecuted.
