OUR CORONAVIRUS TRACKING APP IS BEST IN THE WORLD - GERMANY
German top Government official, Helge Braun, has said the country’s coronavirus contact tracing app that is now available for download in Germany and is the best in the world.
The app was developed by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for disease control and several private companies.
Braun, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Chief of Staff, disclosed that the German track-and-trace app, the use of which was voluntary, was not the first of its kind, but the best in terms of privacy and data protection.
He called on all German citizens and members of the public to download the app.
“Downloading and using it is a small step for each of us, but a large step in the fight against the pandemic,’’ Braun said.
The app is designed to facilitate tracking of COVID-19 chains with the intention of curbing the spread of the virus as Germany relaxes its lockdown rules.
Recall that countries such as China and South Korea already developed and released Coronavirus tracing apps weeks back.
