POLICE DEBUNK REPORTS THAT THE MOWE/OFADA/OWODE ROAD IS A KIDNAPPERS’ DEN
The Ogun State Police Command has debunked reports that the Mowe/Ofada/Owode-Egba is a kidnappers' den.
In a statement by the State’s Police PRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the information is nothing but a false alarm and a calculated attempt to cause panic in the mind of the people, most especially those living on that axis.
The Police PRO revealed the only kidnapping incident recorded in this area is that of a woman who was ambushed and abducted in her farm alongside her visitor on the 1st of May 2021. He added that the victims have been released and some of the kidnappers have been arrested while security operatives are on the trail of the others.
He urged residents of the area to disregard these reports, stating that they are the handiwork of mischief-makers.
Oyeyemi added that the command is doing everything possible to keep all Ogun Residents safe.
