U.S. MISSION OFFICIALS FEARED KILLED IN ANAMBRA STATE
Gunmen on 16th May 2023 killed 2 police officers and 2 consular officers of the US Missions in Nigeria.
The information available indicates that the officials were ambushed at about 1630hrs between Amiyi and Eke Ochuche communities in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra state while coming back from a humanitarian mission. They murdered the four officials and set ablaze their corpses while others escaped with varying degrees of injuries.
Meanwhile, the US Embassy has confirmed the story and also said no US citizens were involved in the attack.
