US TELLS CITIZENS IN CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC TO FIND SHELTER FOLLOWING CPC REBEL GROUP ATTACKS ON GOVERNMENT FORCES

Following attacks by a rebel coalition known as CPC against government forces in the Central African Republic, the United States of America has instructed its citizens living in the country to immediately find shelter and be at alert.


Eons Intelligence reported that armed groups fighting the CAR government launched attacks on troops in locations identified as PK12, PK9, Sassara, and Lakouanga.


The rebels have been pushed back for now by the combined unit of the Central African Armed Forces and troops of the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic, MINUSCA.


In an alert issued on Wednesday, January 13, the US embassy ordered its citizens in the Central African Republic to be at alert “due to the possibility of violence and civil unrest.”

The U.S. Embassy has received reports of clashes in Bangui between PK11 and PK 12 and in the Bimbo area. Out of an abundance of caution and due to the possibility of violence and civil unrest, U.S. Embassy Bangui has advised employees to shelter in place immediately for an indefinite period of time.


Have shelter in place plans that do not rely on U.S. government assistance.

Have evacuation plans that do not rely on U.S. government assistance.

Monitor the U.S. Embassy website and Twitter page for further updates.
