BREAKING: COURT GRANTS BAIL TO NDUME
The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the Borno South Senator, Ali Ndume, after spending five days in Kuje Correctional Centre.
Ndume was remanded in prison since Monday for failing to produce the fleeing former Chairman of the defunct Pension Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina.

Ndume stood as surety for the defendant who is facing a 12-count criminal charge levied against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
During the ruling on Friday, November 27, Justice Okon Abang said the court decided to exercise its discretionary powers based on Ndume's good conduct in the course of the trail of Maina.
The court ordered him to produce one surety, who must be a respectable person that is resident within the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
According to the court, the surety must present evidence of ownership of landed property in Abuja.
It ordered Ndume to deposit his International Passport to the Chief Registrar of the court pending the determination of his appeal.
Also, the court held that Ndume must sign an undertaking that he would within 10 days, compile and transmit the record of proceedings to the Court of Appeal.

Maina is standing trail for allegedly stealing billions of pension funds.
He was accused of laundering about N2billion, part of which he used to acquire properties in Abuja.
