COURT OUT THROWS KYARI'S APPLICATION TO QUASH CHARGES
Justice Emeka Nwite Kyari on Wednesday 22nd March 2023 dismissed at the Federal High Court in Abuja the application of the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, who is seeking to strike out charges against him.
The application was dismissed based on the exclusive right and Jurisdiction to hear drug-related lawsuits as consecrated in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Act.

Meanwhile, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency is currently prosecuting Abba Kyari, the former head of the Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force alongside four members of the IRT – ACP Sunday J. Ubua, ASP Bawa James, Inspector Simon Agirgba, and Inspector John Nuhu, before the Federal High Court in Abuja for the charge of conspiracy in the deal of 17.55kg of cocaine.
Similarly, they were charged with unlawful dealing with cocaine which is a conspiracy to meddle with cocaine and unlawfully tampering with the 21.35kg of cocaine impounded from two convicted drug dealers.
