37 BANDITS KILLED AS ZAMFARA COMMUNITY LAUNCH COUNTERATTACK
No fewer than 37 bandits have been neutralized in a failed attack they launched on the residents of Matusgi village, Talata Mafara LGA, Zamfara State.
The available information indicates that the bandits on 28th August 2024 at about 1400hrs invaded the village on motorbikes and were shooting sporadically to create fear in the villagers, and to perform their abduction act.
However, the villagers, having been informed about the bandits invasion, laid an ambush in some strategic areas with their local weapons to defend the village encircled the bandits on arrival and prevented them from escaping. After an hour of intense shooting, about 10 among the bandits have been neutralized.
Consequently, the villagers intensified their defensive skills, regrouped and ambushed the bandits in another style which with this time resulted in the ultimate death of another 27 bandits members.
However, no report of any casualties or kidnapping among the villagers.
