BOKO HARAM MURDERS 45 FARMERS IN BORNO
About 45 dead bodies of rice farmers were recovered by security authorities at Kwashebe, Zamarmari area of Jere LGA on Saturday evening. The deadly attack on the farming community began at about 8am when some farmers were reported to have apprehended one Boko Haram ISWAP suspect who came to their farm to request for food.
The farmers apprehended the jihadist, tied him and seized his guns.
Unknown to the local farmers, there were dozens of insurgents hiding around the bushes.
The other militants quickly stormed the scene, forcing the farmers to escape out of the farm unhurt.
Unfortunately, around 11 am, the group declared a blanket killing against all the farmers harvesting in their farms. Sources say 7 farmers were abducted and about 46 killed.
