DELTA STATE POLICE RECOVER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY ROUNDS OF AK47 LIVE AMMUNITION, AND MAGAZINES
Delta State Police recovered one hundred and thirty-eight rounds of AK47 live ammunitions, one AK47 magazine, one Baretta pistol magazine and a knife on Friday Evening at Ughelli-Porthacourt road in Delta State.
During a routine patrol/stop and search the team Eagle-net special squad intercepted a Mazda 626 saloon car dark green in colour with Reg. No. UGH 722 AA with six occupants of two males and four females.

In the process of searching a man whose name is not yet known among the occupants escaped into a nearby stream.
In the Vehicle, the Security Operatives, found a bag of rice bag which was identified by other passengers as the property of the unknown man who escaped.
In the bag , they found one hundred and thirty-eight (138) rounds of AK47 live ammunitions, one AK47 magazine, one Baretta pistol magazine and a knife.
In the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the occupants are all passengers that boarded the cab from Eleyele PHC heading to Ughelli, Investigation is still ongoing, while all effort is being put in place to arrest the fleeing suspect.
However, the commissioner of Police has instructed officers and men of the command, tactical commands, DPOs to ensure that it is sustained, so that criminals will know that Delta state is not safe for them.
