COURT SENTENCES EX REPS MEMBER FAROUK LAWAN TO SEVEN YEARS IMPRISONMENT OVER $3 MILLION BRIBE
A High Court in the FCT has sentenced Ex-Chairman, House of Reps probe panel on oil subsidy regime, Farouk Lawan, to seven years imprisonment for receiving a $3 million bribe.
Justice Angela Otaluka of FCT High Court at Apo found the former lawmaker guilty on all three count charges the ICPC leveled against him.
The Judge ordered him to refund $500.000 dollars to the Federal Government.
Lawan, who hails from Kano State, chaired the House of Representative committee that produced the fuel scam report, accusing some of those who import fuel of massive corruption.
