POLICE ARREST FIVE PERSONS FOR MULTIPLE ABDUCTION, CAR THEFT AND ABUSE OF WOMEN, TWO OTHERS FOR INTERNATIONAL CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

The Nigerian Police Force has arrested five persons for multiple abduction, car theft, and abuse of women. 


In a statement by Frank Mba, Force Police PRO, he said two others were also arrested for child pornography.


Mohammed Adamu, Nigeria's IGP, said that plans to curtail sexual and gender based violence particularly abuse on women and children is yielding positive results with this latest development.



He revealed the suspects arrested are notorious for kidnapping women and female children. Adamu stated that the suspects sexually molest them, then proceed to receive ransom from their families before setting them free.


The Force Police PRO said the five suspects were arrested by operatives of the Intelligence Response Team IRT after a thorough search was conducted by the force for the molesters of women in some states in the South-South part of Nigeria.



The arrested suspects include; Osinachi Ngwakwe 'm' 22yrs from Ubaka Community in Umahia South LGA, Abia State, Sammy Junior Inordee 'alias T-Boy 'm' 27yrs, from Gwarra Community in Khana LGA, Rivers State, Epo-Bari Nwolu 'm' 26yrs from Ogale Community in Eleme, LGA, Rivers State, Yabari Gbarale 'm' 29yrs from Gwara community, Khana LGA, Rivers State and Barine Yilda 'm' 30yrs alias Albino or Yellow from Gwara community, Khana LGA, Rivers State.



It was gathered that the suspects target female drivers of exotic cars andtrail them to lonely roads, ambush them, take them to their hideout, sexually molest them, sell off their cars, and demand ransom from their families before their release. 


Police operatives recovered Four AK47 rifles, one double barrel shotgun, and sets of military camouflage uniforms which they illegally acquire and use in evading security personnel at various checkpoints.

 The Force PRO noted that efforts are ongoing to arrest fleeing members of syndicate.


In the same vein, Interpol, National Central Bureau (NCB) Abuja have arrested two men who hail from Kano identified as Ibrahim Muazzam Mohammad Aminu and Mohammad Tahir Umar.


It was gathered that the suspects are members of a trans-border/international child porn syndicate which sexually molest and take advantage of underage girls. The suspects upload the video recordings of the sexual act on international social media Whatsapp group chat known as “Pervertidos”, owned and managed by a Brazilian called Adriana.


Exhibits recovered from the suspects include; three mobile phones and a Laptop computer.


Forensic analysis carried out by the Police team on the gadgets showed the series of pornographic videos with underage girls which the suspects shared on the internet.

 

The IGP revealed that a total of two thousand, seven hundred and ninety-two suspects were arrested by the Police for Sexual and Gender Based Violence and other sexual related offences in the year 2020. 


The Police Chief admonishes parents and guardians to keep a close watch on their children and wards and report any incidents of abuse against women and children. 


He added that all the suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are done.
