OBASEKI, SHAIBU PAYS PRESIDENT BUHARI ‘THANK YOU’ VISIT, PLEDGES LOYALTY TO PDP

Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, and his Deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu, and their spouses, on Friday, September 25, met with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to thank him after winning the recent gubernatorial elections in the State.


Recall that Godwin Obaseki emerged winner at the just concluded Edo State gubernatorial election on Saturday, September 19, 2020.


Obaseki amassed a total of 307,955 votes across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State to prevail over Osagie Ize-Iyamu, flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress candidate (APC), who scored 223,619 votes.


The Governor, speaking to newsmen at the State House said that it would be immoral of him to return to the APC and he has no intentions leaving the PDP.

This comes days after his contender in the APC, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, urged him to return to the APC shortly after he emerged victorious at the September 19 polls.


Recall that Eons Intelligence reported on June 16, 2020, that Governor Obaseki dumped the APC for the PDP when the ruling party disqualified him from participating in its primary election.
