POLICE ARREST FOUR SUSPECTED ESN/IPOB TERRORISTS IN ANAMBRA STATE

No fewer than four suspected members of Eastern Security Network (ESN), a group linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have been arrested by the operatives of Anambra State Police Command in Ufuma, Orumba North, Anambra State.


The information available indicates that the four suspects were arrested based on the planned attack on security personnel and civilians by the group. Based on intelligence information, the police on 17th June 2024 swiftly carried out their investigation which led to the arrest of the quadruple suspects.


Consequently, one Maduabuchi Nwafor a nickname Omenkpo, aged 32, a terrestrial doctor was arrested among the suspects. He confessed to preparing charms for the group and used his shrine for initiation ceremonies and meetings for the group. However, another suspect among the quadruple confessed to being one of the gunmen deployed by the group to enforce an illegal sit-at-home order on May 30, 2024.


Meanwhile, the police have intensified their investigation to uncover the hideouts of the insurgents.
