POLICE ARREST INTERNET FRAUDSTERS OVER BURYING NEWBORN BABY ALIVE IN RIVERS STATE
No fewer than 12 suspected internet fraudsters who allegedly buried a newborn baby alive were apprehended on 23rd August 2023 by the operatives of Rivers State Police Command with the synergy of a security watch, popularly known as PHALGA Security and the State Neighbourhood Watch at Eagle Island, Rivers State.
The information available indicates that the suspects identified as Yahoo Boys were sighted pronouncing some incantations at Andoni waterfront in Eagle Island, Port Harcourt. The PHALGA security men were quickly alerted, and upon their arrival at the location, the suspects had left.
Consequently, the security men made a close observation which led to the discovery of a newborn baby that was buried alive by the suspects. And on digging the ground, the baby was exhumed dead.
The security men collaborated with the police operatives and lay manhunt for the suspects which then led to their arrest at a hotel in Eagle Island.
Meanwhile, the suspects are in police custody where they will face their prosecution accordingly.
