POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED CULTISTS IN OGUN VARSITY
The Igbeba Divisional Police Officer while on crime prevention patrol on the 21st of February, 2024 at about 1500hrs ahead of Tai Solarin University of Education Student Union Election, scheduled to hold between Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd February 2024, team of policemen drafted to provide security jointly working with the internal security of the school received an information that certain suspected cultist had planned to disrupt Union Election. Relying on the credible information the Divisional Police Officer, led a team of surveillance officers and arrested the following students of Tai Solarin University of Education:
1. Adekoya Boluwatife Temilade, male, a 200 level student of the Political Science Department
2. Adio Oluwafemi Ifeoluwapo, male, a 300 level student of Technical Education
3. Agboluaje Okikiola Segun, a non-student. Following their arrest, a search was conducted on them and incriminating items were found in their possession.
One locally cut to size pistol gun loaded with one live cartridge, was found on Adekoya Boluwatife, local concoctions suspected to be criminal charms found on Adio Oluwafemi. Having discovered the exhibits on the three students, further interrogation through constructive questioning was posed to the suspects regarding the pistol found on thier possession, buh they were unable to give satisfactory answers about the pistol found on them, but made confessional statements that they are members of Alora cult confraternity. The State Criminal investigation department will continue with the investigation while efforts is ongoing to ensure a peaceful and smooth election void of cult violence and protection of lives and properties of the students and staff members of the University during and after the elections.
Any manifest violations to impede elections will be dealt with severe punishment, as the police authorities will not spare any student in whatever criminal guise and are further warned.
