POLICE RAID KIDNAPPERS HIDEOUT, RESCUE ABDUCTED VICTIM IN DELTA STATE

In a dramatic turn of events on 08/12/2023, the Nsukwa Divisional Police Officer, CSP George Omunu, received a distress call about a kidnapping incident. A victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was abducted while riding his motorcycle near Ashama Anu-Ugbo Farm Nsukwa. The kidnappers demanded a hefty Five Million Naira ransom.


Responding promptly, an intensive search and rescue operation was launched. On 09/12/2023, acting on credible intelligence, the police tracked the kidnappers to the Egbudu-Akah bush. A fierce exchange of gunfire ensued, prompting the police to retaliate. The confrontation forced the kidnappers to flee, leaving the rescued victim unharmed.


Tragically, one of the suspected kidnappers, apprehended with gunshot wounds during the operation, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at General Hospital Isheagu.


On 11/12/2023, the Raiders Squad of the Delta state police command, acting on credible intelligence about cultist activities in Boboroku Community, Ethiope West LGA, undertook a mission to restore public peace. As the patrol team closed in, the suspects fled, abandoning a bag. Upon inspection, the bag yielded a Single Barrel Cut-To-Size Gun. The recovered weapon is now in police custody, and investigations are underway.


Similarly, on 12/12/2023, operatives of the Eagle-net squad conducting a routine stop and search along Odurubu-Bomadi road intercepted a motorcycle carrying two passengers. A search led to the discovery of a locally made cut-to-size gun and four cartridges concealed in a bag.
