SUSPECTED HERDERS ATTACK BENUE COMMUNITY, KILL OVER 50 PERSONS

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have attacked several communities in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State in the past few days which has resulted in the death of 50 people.

Some communities in the local government area were spared in previous invasions and now have felt the heat of the attack for about five days of rage. The communities include Adam, Iyarinwa, Abamde Ityuluv, Waya Boagundu, Agura Ayaga, and Azege all within the Turan council ward of Kwande LGEA.

Meanwhile, the casualty toll from the attack is becoming a daily report from five or four individuals being killed which has lost count as some corpses which are yet to be recovered were still in the bush.

However, the two significant political parties in the state, PDP and APC have also condemned the terror attacks including the destruction of lives and property in the area.

Nonetheless, the security forces are employed to halt the continuity of the attack in order not to worsen the voters turnout at the coming Governorship and State Assembly elections slated to hold on 11th March 2023 across the State.
