COVID-19: NIGERIA, KENYA TO RECEIVE ASTRAZENECA VACCINES ON TUESDAY
Nigeria and Kenya will on Tuesday receive Covid 19 vaccines from the UN-backed Covax program.
Nigeria would receive 3.92 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine while Kenya will get 1.25 million doses.
According to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, logistics have been put in place to ensure that vaccinations begin immediately with priority given to healthcare workers and the elderly.
Recall Ghana was the first country to receive vaccines from the Covax program with over 100 participating countries set to receive 337.2 million vaccine doses by the middle of the year.
The Covax program is a global scheme aimed at procuring and distributing COVID-19 vaccines for free to poorer countries.
