ARMY RESCUES 10 ABDUCTED PERSONS IN ZAMFARA

Men of the Nigerian Army have rescued 10 abducted persons from the hands of armed bandits at Yenyewa Village in Zamfara State, North West region of Nigeria.


The rescue operation was conducted by troops of Operation Hadarin Daji on December 20 following distress call activities of bandits in the settlement.

The soldiers promptly mobilized to the target area, overwhelmed the criminals with superior gunfire and forced them to abandon 10 kidnapped victims before fleeing in disarray.


The rescued victims have been reunited with their families.


Series of banditry attacks involving killings and abductions have been reported in Zamfara lately which have caused unrest amongst residents of the State.

Eons Intelligence earlier reported that gunmen on the night of December 17 attacked the convoy of the Emir of Kaura-Namoda in Zamfara State, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad Asha, and killed eight persons.


The victims, two palace guards, the Emir’s driver, three policemen, and two traditional title holders in Kaura-Namoda, were ambushed and killed on their way back from Abuja to Kaura-Namoda in Zamfara State.


Similarly on December 1, gunmen attacked Gwaram community located in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killed the village head and abducted 8 persons.
