BREAKING: COURT DISMISSES MAILAFIA'S APPLICATION AGAINST POLICE INVITATION

A Jos High Court has dismissed an application by Obadiah Mailafia, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), seeking to stop the Police through the Force Criminal Investigation Department from investigating him.

Mailafia lamented that the same matter is also being investigated by the Department of State Security (DSS).

The presiding Judge, Justice Arum Ashom, on Tuesday, dismissed the application for lacking merit.

Recall that Mailafia, during an interview on Nigeria Info in August, alleged that one of the Northern Governors is the Commander of Boko Haram insurgents

He accused the Government of involvement in the killings happening in the Southern Kaduna.

The allegations prompted the Department of State Services (DSS) to invite him for questioning.

The former CBN head had been invited three times by the DSS over the allegations.

The police said the invitation was based on 'investigating a case in which your (Mailafia) name featured prominently'.

Mailafia was invited by the police, but he declined and then issued an application to the Jos High Court seeking to restrain the Police from interrogating him.
