UPDATE: RESIDENTS IN LAGOS PANIC AS MYSTERIOUS FROTH-LIKE SUBSTANCE TAKES OVER NEIGHBORHOOD (VIDEO)


The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on new media, Gawat Jubril has told residents in Anthony not to fear as the froth-like material found in the environment is not harmful.  


In a tweet, he explained that a tanker fell overnight and the Lagos state emergency team poured the foam material on the floor to prevent a fire outbreak. 


"UPDATE: A Tanker fell overnight and our Emergency Agencies poured the foam material to prevent combustion.. Nothing to be scared of .. @safety_lasg & LASEMA are on ground. 

@Riddwane @jidesanwoolu @OkeOsanyintolu @gboyegaakosile," Jubril tweeted. 


People living and working in the Anthony area of Lagos State were puzzled as a mysterious froth-like substance took over the neighbourhood on Wednesday, July 8.


A video shared online showed that the substance had spread to the road, and into people’s homes. A man with a ladder was also seen trying to rescue people trapped in their houses. Residents could also be heard in the background screaming for help in the Yoruba language.
