POLICE NAB 10-YEAR-OLD GIRL OVER HARD DRUG COURIER IN LAGOS STATE

The operatives of Lagos State Police Command apprehended a 10-year-old girl for having hard drugs in Oko-oba, Agege, Lagos State.

The information available indicates that the girl's guardian a 44-year-old woman identified as Taiye Abass has allegedly been using the 10-year-old girl as a drug courier to evade police arrest for over two months.

The guardian Taiye was arrested when her niece was found roaming the street and was brought to the Pen Cinema Police Division by a neighbour.

Consequently, one of the police operatives set to bathe the girl while they look for her parents. But unfortunately discovered a substance planted in her panties which is suspected to be Colorado.

Thereafter, the minor (names withheld) was interrogated and revealed that her mother’s sister (Taiye Abass) who brought her from Ilorin, Kwara State to Lagos about two months ago implanted the substance in her panties. She started the illicit deeds with her two days after she arrived in Lagos and has been implanting drugs in her panties after having her bath to take to her shop every day. At the shop, she would remove the drugs and sell them to some people.

Also, the minor explained how uncomfortable she is with being mobile with drugs every day and she cannot complain to avoid being beaten. The minor pleaded with Police operatives to take her to her grandfather who also resides in Lagos State, after she narrated that her father is dead but her mother stays in Ilorin.

Meanwhile, the police have established communication and set to hand the girl over to her parents while her aunt (Taiye Abass) will be prosecuted accordingly.
