EXCLUSIVE: BOKO HARAM/ISWAP ATTACK POLICE CHECKPOINT IN BORNO, KILL 1 OFFICER, CART AWAY TRUCKS

Intel available to Eons Intelligence confirms that Boko Haram Insurgents in an ambush operation on Friday killed at least one police officer at Tunkushe village in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.


The insurgents on motorcycles stormed the police checking point located about 20 kilometers to Maiduguri, the State capital at 12pm on Friday, 22nd January 2021.


A military source said that the attackers suspected to be from the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), killed one police man and took their trucks while the other policemen scampered for safety.

"Nobody was informed about what was going on, even when the attack happened the Police just ran away. It was later that the troops of 212 Battalion of the Nigerian Army were reinforced to the scene. 


"Body of the deceased police officer has been recovered and deposited at a mortuary," the Source added.
