BANDITS/TERRORIST DEMANDS N10 MILLION EACH IN 12 VILLAGES IN ZULU DISTRICT OF BUKUYYUM LGA, ZAMFARA STATE
Heightened terrorist/Bandit threat in about 12 villages of Zulu District - Bukkuyum LGA - Zamfara state in need of URGENT security attention.
In the midst of 2023 election primaries - impeccable sources are reporting that armed terrorist have issued ransom demands of above N10Million each to about 12 villages in the Zulu District of Bukkuyum LGA. In the absence of security many villagers are evacuating.
Sources indicate the affected villages as Nanarke, Galle, Fasagora, Kalarfana, Ruwan Kura & Kyaram; Kairu, Takalafiya, Kause, Gidan Gundam, Akabe & Tungar Rakumi. Some villages relocated to safer villages in XXX LGA of Zamfara State, others moved to Kebbi State.
Unfortunately, multiple attacks by armed Non State Actors on some of the named vulnerable villages in Bukkuyum LGA continue as recently as May 22/22 despite visible presence of security forces deployed at FOBs in locations given as Bukkuyum & Gwashi LGAs.
Several bandits are harbouring within Gando forest located in Gwashi district. Gando forest enjoys multiple routes connecting neighbouring Sokoto, Kebbi & Niger states. The forest harbours key bandit kingpins including one Alhaji Shadari & Alhaji Bello.
Armed bandits are preventing local communities from farming & engaging in other commercial activities within most villages in named locations Nigerian Army OPHD to consider further investigation, plans to launch coordinated ground and aerial clearance operations.
When the people see something and say something, the state authorities must Hear Something and do something immediately!
