COVID-19: Panic as KLM Plans to Land in Lagos and Abuja
Panic as KLM planned to Land in Lagos and Abuja despite ban: KLM Royal Dutch Airline is expected to land in Lagos& Abuja between 26th March and 2nd April 2020 ostensibly to dislodge some high class passengers as well as evacuate some who are majorly expatriates working for some multinationals. Report also shows that Lufthansa plans to do same.
There is a growing speculation that the flights may bring sick politicians and their families that are stranded abroad over COVID-19 pandemic. The implications of escalation in the spread can not be ruled out.
It is therefore advised that while government accepts to open its airspace to allow its citizens to return, effective and mandatory isolation actions be taken on the returnees to prevent possible spike in the cases of the scourge in the country. This becomes important as recent revelations and events has shown that politicians and high class Nigerians deliberately disregard these measures.
