EKITI RECORDS SECOND CORONAVIRUS DEATH
Ekiti State has recorded its second COVID-19 death.
This brings the total number of Coronavirus deaths in the State to 2.
The patient, a 75-year-old woman was the index case who was hospitalised in in one of the tertiary hospitals in the State before the disease was detected in her.
The first COVID-19 death case in the state was a 29-year-old woman who sneaked into the state from Lagos.
Yaya-Kolade, the State’s Commissioner for Health while confirming the demise of the 75-year-old, had earlier told newsmen in one of her briefings that the woman was in a critical condition and was hospitalised in a tertiary hospital in Ekiti.
”The new positive case, a 75-year-old female, has died from complications of the virus’ the Ekiti State Government said.
According to the NCDC, as of May 21st, 2020, Ekiti has recorded 20 cases of the Covid-19.
Of the 20 cases, 5 are active and are on admission. 13 discharges have been made.
