Holiday Relief as Dangote Slashes Petrol Price, Introduces Credit Purchase Option

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) product to N899.50 per litre.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, on Thursday, December 19, 2024. According to the statement, the decision aims to provide relief to Nigerians during the holiday season.

“Africa’s first privately-owned oil refinery, which previously lowered the price to N970 per litre on November 24, has now announced a new price of N899.50 per litre. This reduction is designed to ease transport costs during the festive period,” Chiejina stated.

As part of its holiday package, the company also unveiled a special offer to further benefit consumers.

“In addition to the holiday discount, Dangote Petroleum Refinery is allowing consumers to purchase an additional litre of fuel on credit for every litre bought on a cash basis. This offer is backed by bank guarantees from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” the statement read.

The refinery thanked Nigerians for their continued patronage and assured its commitment to delivering premium quality petroleum products.

Chiejina also highlighted the refinery’s efforts to end Nigeria’s dependence on substandard and blended imported petroleum products, which have posed health and environmental risks. “We are committed to ensuring Nigerians have access to competitively priced, environmentally friendly, and high-quality petroleum products,” he added.

The new price adjustment is effective immediately at Dangote Refinery’s truck loading gantry and SPM facilities.
