Joint Security Forces Eliminate 80 Bandits, Destroy Hideouts in Latest Katsina Operation
The Katsina State Government has commended the successful joint operation between the Air Component (AC) of Operation FANSAN YAMMA and the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Jibia Local Government Area.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Dr. Nasir Muazu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, praised the operation carried out on January 4, which led to the elimination of 80 bandits, the wounding of several others, and the destruction of their hideouts and operational structures.
The operation, based on credible intelligence, focused on bandit camps in Kadoji, Matso-Matso, Bagga, Dogon Marke, and Takatsaba, areas known for harboring criminal groups. These camps had been linked to banditry activities affecting neighboring local government areas, including Jibia, Batsari, and Batagarawa.
Muazu expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of the military, stating that the operation has been widely appreciated by the Katsina State Government and its peace-loving citizens. He also acknowledged the steadfast dedication of the troops to restoring peace and security across Katsina State and the wider North West region.
The government urged residents to continue providing security agencies with vital intelligence to support ongoing efforts against banditry and other security challenges in the state.
