
Kano Police Arrest Three Suspected Car Thieves, Recover Two Stolen Vehicles
Operatives of the Kano State Police Command has apprehended three suspected car thieves and recovered two stolen vehicles as part of its intensified efforts to combat crime. This development aligns with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, on enhancing round-the-clock visibility patrols.
The arrests were made on March 2, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., when operatives from the Command's Special Intervention Squad (SIS), acting on credible intelligence, conducted a routine patrol along Yankaba-Hadejia Road, Kano-Ringim Expressway. The suspects intercepted and taken into custody are:
Sani Sirajo, 20, from Kaduna State
Rabiu Aliyu, 35, from Sharada Quarters, Kano
Isah Yakubu, 22, from Katsina State
During the operation, the police recovered two stolen motor vehicles:
Honda Jazz (Ash-colored) – Registration number SUL 173
Pontiac Vibe (White-colored) – Registration number SUL 516 SM
Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicles were stolen from Keffi, Nasarawa State, and the suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime.
The Kano State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, assuring that the ongoing investigation will ensure the vehicles are returned to their rightful owners.
