KIDNAPPED IMO MONARCH, YOUTH LEADER KILLED BY THEIR ABDUCTORS

Traditional ruler of Ihitte Ihube Autonomous Community in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State, Paul Ogbu, and a youth leader, who were allegedly kidnapped by yet to be identified gunmen have been found dead.


The Monarch and the youth leader were kidnapped on Sunday after which his Palace and several vehicle were set ablaze by the criminals. 


The death of the royal father and youth leader was revealed by another traditional ruler, Acho Ndukwe, Chairman of Okigwe Local Government Area Council of Traditional Rulers.


He was also originally kidnapped alongside Ogbu but help came his way after a combined team of security operatives raided the criminals hideouts in Orsu Local Government Area in Imo State and Uli in Ihiala Local Government Areas of Anambra State on Monday.


A native who spoke with newsmen anonymously said; “Eze Paul Ogbu and the youth leader have been found dead. Eze Acho Ndukwe revealed that the criminals killed Eze Paul Ogbu in his presence. Security operatives went back to the criminals’ camp with the indigenes and the corpse of the traditional ruler was identified lying in a ditch. He will be buried on Thursday.”


Late Eze Acho Ndukwe of Amagu Ihube and Eze Paul Ogbu of Ihitte Ihube were kidnapped on Sunday when hoodlums stormed his Palace. They reportedly shot sporadically in the air before setting everything in sight ablaze before zooming off in a Hilux vehicle, according to eye witnesses. 


Expectedly, other Traditional Rulers and Chiefs in the Communities are said to have gone into a state of hibernation. 


Spokesperson for the Police in the State, Micheal Abattam was not available for comments at the time of filing this report.
