LAGOS POLICE DISMANTLE ILLEGAL ROAD BLOCKS ON BADAGRY EXPRESSWAY

The Lagos State Police Command has dismantled illegal road blocks on the Badagry expressway.

In a statement by the State's Police PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, ordered the dismantling to restore sanity and decency to the operations of the police along the ever-busy international route.

The Commissioner gave the order on Friday April 9 while addressing Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers in the command on the general security situation in the State.

The Police PRO said the Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers whose jurisdictions fall along the Badagry Expressway, that is Area E, Festac and Area K, Marogbo, were ordered to withdraw their men from the illegal road blocks and embark on aggressive motorised patrol and surveillance to secure their areas and the route.

CP Odumosu said the illegal road blocks have been condemned by the Government, international bodies and interest groups, stressing that they must be dismantled without delay.

The Police boss said other police personnel who operate along this route would be directed to adjust and ensure sanity is restored to their operations.

He warned all Area Commanders to ensure this directive is obeyed as any security operative who violates the order would be sanctioned.
