MAN ARRESTED IN KATSINA FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFRAUDING PEOPLE BY SELLING FAKE EMPLOYMENT LETTERS TO THEM
The Katsina State police command has arrested a man for allegedly defrauding people by selling fake employment/appointment letters to them.
The suspect, Ibrahim Lawal El-Maki, 45, was arrested on Monday October 4 around 3.20pm, after conspiring with a certain Hajarat Iyeh E gbunu, 42, a dismissed Nigerian Immigration Service officer and a notorious fraudster who has been trailed by security operatives for various crimes.
It was gathered that the suspect approached a certain Aminu Hamza, 32, with a proposal for a job vacancy at ECOWAS Headquarters in Abuja with a salary of more than three million Naira. He also informed him that each offer is sold at three million and five hundred thousand (N350,000).
Aminu Hamza informed his friends and they transferred N7 Millon to Ibrahim El-Maki’s account. This prompted him to send copies of the appointment letters to Aminu Hamza through WhatsApp which were later traced to be fake.

Ibrahim El-Maki was subsequently arrested and he confessed to be partners with the dismissed Immigration officer, Hajarat Iyeh Egbunu. She was also nabbed and claimed to have received thirty-four million, eight hundred thousand naira N34.8M from El-Maki through her bank accounts.
TWO SUSPECTED FRAUDSTERS ARRESTED FOR POSSESSING FAKE DOLLAR NOTES AND ZAIRE CURRENCY IN KATSINA
The Katsina State police command has also arrested two suspected fraudsters for possessing fake dollar notes and Zaire currency.
The suspects were arrested on September 29, 2021, around 8pm, following credible intelligence that a certain Sanusi Mohammed, 33, from Kofar Guga Quarters, Katsina, was in possession of 50 pieces of one hundred American Dollars.
During investigations, he confessed to have received it from one Bashir Nuhu, 55, whom he referred to as his boss and supplier of the fake notes.
He confessed to have been committing the crime for more than a year, revealing that he received West African Francs, (CFA) Niger Republic currency of various denominations more than three times from Bashir Nuhu.
Bashir was arrested and had his house searched. Threehundred and seven (307) pieces of Zaire currency suspected to be counterfeit were found in his possession.
MAN ARRESTED FOR SUPPLYING FUEL TO BANDITS IN KATSINA
Security operatives on Tuesday October 5 arrested one Almustapha Kabir, 18, who specializes in supplying fuel to bandits in their hideouts.
The suspect, 18, who hails from Dan’arau village, Niger Republic, was nabbed by troops on patrol along the Magama-Jibia road in Katina with some quantity of petroleum product inside polythene bags.
