MAN REMANDED OVER RAPE OF MINOR IN ADO-EKITI
An Ado-Ekiti Magistrate Court on Thursday remanded one Moses Samuel, a 27-year-old male at the Correctional Center in the State for allegedly defiling 15-year-old girl.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Oriyomi Akinwale told the Court that the defendant committed the offence on 28th November, in Ikere-Ekiti. He also said the suspect has no known address.
The Police Prosecutor said the alleged rape of the 15-year-old girl is an offence that contravenes Section 31 of the Child Right Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The Prosecutor prayed the Court to remand the defendant in a correctional centre, pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Chief Magistrate, Michael Faola, without taking the plea, ordered the accused person be remanded at the correctional centre, pending issuance of legal advice and adjourned the case till 13 December, 2021 for mention.
