NASCO GROUP DENIES ALLEGATION OF TERRORISM FINANCING
The Management of NASCO Group has refuted allegations that the company founder, Late Ahmed Nasreddin have been involved in terrorism financing. The company officially debunked the claims yesterday and termed them as: "Irresponsible and fake journalism".
The company desribed the allegations as defamatory and slanderous, noting that they have never and will never sponsor any criminal act, organization or violence of any kind. The company noted that its founder was exonerated by the United Nations Security Council and the United States Government after an iincident in 2001 where multiple individuals and interests were subjected to investigations at various levels.
“A detailed examination by the United Nations Security Council and the US Government totally exonerated NASCO’s late founder. Dr Ahmed Nasreddin, and his business interests of all allegations. It was clearly established that NASCO was never at any time associated with the sponsorship of terrorism — directly or indirectly — anywhere in the world".
"A similar investigation was done by the National Intelligence Agency of Nigeria, where it also came to the same conclusion, thereby exonerating our late founder and NASCO Group of any act or complicity in the sponsorship of terrorism in Nigeria or any other country.”
NASCO also stated that the company's assets or interest were never confiscated or account frozen after the investigation.
“NASCO can also categorically affirm that it has never been associated with nor had business dealings with any of the persons mentioned in the false report.”
The company pledged to continue to uphold the principles of best practices in and out of its production environment in order to maintain its age long position as one of the foremost grocery producer in the country.
Recall that a United States based Nigerian investigative journalist, David Hundeyin had recently revealed how the late NASCO group’s multimillionaire founder, Ahmed Idris Nasreddin and Yakubu Musa Kafanchan, also known as Sheikh Yakubu Musa Katsina, an ally of Nigeria’s terror-linked Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami funded Islamic terror cells in 2002.
In a document released on October 4th, 2021 and titled, "Cornflakes for Jihad: The Boko Haram Origin" , David Hundeyin had chronicled a series of events directly linking the NASCO group late founder with the propagation and financial support of terrorism organisations within and outside Nigeria.
