NIGERIAN ARMY NEUTRALIZES ATTACK FROM BOKO HARAM INSURGENTS IN BORNO

Nigeria Army on Thursday, July 2 neutralized an attack from Boko Haram insurgents in Damasak area of Borno.

 

Eons Intelligence gathered that there was a fierce gun battle between the Nigerian troops and the Islamic insurgents in Damasak village at about 3 pm.

 

“They went straight to the last military base and they have been engaging in a heavy gunfight with the troops in the location," a source told The Cable. 

 

The battle that lasted for about three hours claimed the lives of two civilians who were caught in the crossfire. 

 

Sources told Eons Intelligence that a humanitarian helicopter which was attempting touchdown during the attack was also hit by bullets.

However, the crew members survived unscratched.

 

Recall that Governor Babagana Zulum was in Damasak on Wednesday, July 1, to distribute relief materials to displaced persons.
