NIGERIAN MAN AND HIS WIFE ARRESTED FOR MANUFACTURING ILLICIT DRUGS IN SOUTH AFRICA

Authorities in South Africa have arrested a Nigerian man, and his wife for manufacturing and dealing in illicit drugs.


The couple, Anaechi Okwudili Eneh (44) and his South African wife, Tsakani Carol Baloyi (33) were arrested at their residence in Centurion, Pretoria on Saturday, August 29 by officers of the Hawks, South Africa’s Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI)


The Hawks spokesperson Colonel Katlego Mogale said the investigation team discovered at the couple’s home, a fully functional illicit crystal meth and methaqualone manufacturing laboratory worth an estimated R2.5 million as well as chemicals and plastic containers used to manufacture drugs.

A Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday, August 31 remanded the couple in custody on charges of manufacturing and dealing in drugs.

Mr Eneh and his wife, Baloyi’s case, has been postponed to Friday, August 4 when they can file for a formal bail application.
