NNPP Will Win 2027 Presidential Election – Kwankwaso

As preparations for the 2027 presidential election gather momentum, the National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has expressed confidence that the NNPP will defeat other political parties and produce Nigeria’s next president.

Kwankwaso stated that the party's victory was assured, provided the electoral process remained free and fair.

Speaking on Thursday at the 8th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the party, held at the Bolingo Hotel in Abuja, he criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing it of exacerbating poverty and insecurity in the country. He lamented that Nigerians were experiencing unprecedented hardship, citing rising poverty levels, insecurity, and decaying infrastructure, particularly in northern Nigeria.

“We are all aware of the difficulties the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are facing. If there is a free and fair election in this country, the NNPP will defeat the APC, PDP, and other parties,” Kwankwaso declared.

NNPP's Readiness for 2027

Acknowledging some internal challenges within the party, Kwankwaso dismissed claims made by expelled members as mere distractions. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy, working in collaboration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He urged party leaders at all levels to remain united and focused on securing victory in 2027.

“Let me assure you that we will continue to do everything necessary for the success of our party. I appeal to our leaders across states, local governments, and wards to work harder so that NNPP can win in 2027.”

Kano Governor Highlights Party’s Commitment to Education

Speaking at the event, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, represented by his deputy, Abdulsalam Aminu Gwarzo, emphasized the state government’s prioritization of education and human capital development.

He revealed that 31% of Kano’s 2024 budget had been allocated to education, the highest percentage among all Nigerian states, underscoring the NNPP’s dedication to expanding access to learning.

“We are proud of what is happening in Kano. ‘Education for all’ is the slogan of our party, and no state has matched what we have achieved,” the governor stated.

Key Decisions from NEC Meeting

At the end of the NEC meeting—attended by National Working Committee (NWC) members, lawmakers, commissioners, and party representatives—several key resolutions were made, including:

  • Extension of caretaker committees in Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Gombe, and Taraba States.
  • Approval of a six-month caretaker committee for the Oyo State chapter, pending the appointment of a substantive executive.

With the 2027 elections on the horizon, the NNPP remains optimistic about its chances of emerging victorious, banking on what it describes as the failures of the APC and PDP to secure public support.
