OKADA BAN: POLICE ARRESTS 16 AND IMPOUND 140 MOTORCYCLES.
16 motorcyclists and passengers were arrested in various Local Government Areas of Lagos State yesterday following the ban of Okada (commercial motorcycle) this was confirmed by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command today (2nd June 2022).
“About 16 riders and passengers were arrested and immediately taken to the nearest mobile court”.
“Also,140 motorcycles were impounded and still counting,” He said.
Recall that the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had on May 18, imposed a fresh and total ban on commercial motorcycles, popularly known as Okada, on all highways, six Local Government Areas, and nine Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State.
